I received this email to remind us to keep things in perspective. There are real potential health problems from mold. Carl, Thanks for the article. I am also a registered nurse who formerly worked at University of Colorado hospital in a clinic with a ear, nose and throat physician. We saw many, many patients with mold allergy. They had a wide variety of symptoms including but not limited to chronic sinusitis, Meriere’s Disease, fatigue, brain fog, skin rash and so forth. Mold allergy is a very real problem for many people, and one research study from Johns Hopkins does not necessarily refute the truth of the matter for those who are susceptible. Susceptibility is often a function of inherited tendencies, chronic exposure to moldy environments, and other mitigating factors, commonly stress. It’s just impossible to oversimplify this condition, and it’s not a good idea to generalize from this one study.
